A workshop at the IKKM on folding and unfolding in media, cultural and visual studies. Workshop discussions on: folded and creased cloth, folding in books and manuscripts, gothic type, maps, vela, topological devices, foldable objects, diptychs, winged altarpieces, doors, folded architecture, the baroque fold, folds in painting and drapery – Mille Plis.

With the use of slides taken from lectures at the workshop, we created 280 unique posters, based on the idea of folding and unfolding. The text is reactive to the images pasted on top, creating 280 individual type arrangements, whereas the folding of the poster follows its own rules, to become a design element of its own disregarding the displayed content.
