Anri Sala’s Why the Lion Roars regulates relations dependant on the outside temperature. The installation is based on a temperature chart made up of 57 movies. Every degree Celsius represents one movie. Whenever the temperature outside the exhibition building changes, the movie on display inside changes, too.

The unpredictability of temperature is accompanied by a prediction, that prediction is then used in order to publish the anticipated film program of the day beforehand. The online prediction at www.whythelionroars.net translates the actual temperature forecast into a film chart. Every movie was matched with a colour temperature, although the film titles original typeface is used the colour gradients relate to the transition probability.
